Make your Classroom FUN with Classic Games
EDULudo
Game-based learning is getting more and more accessible to most teachers, since students are engaged in gaming enviroments in their daily life. However,Game-based Learning is more than using a learning game for your classroom. It's about designing a meaningful learning experience for your students.
What about design your own learning game? Can a plain game, which is familiar to many kids, become a learning one?
So, during my postgraduate studies my team designed an educational game based on the "LUDO". Everyone has played the traditional game "LUDO" in their early years,
Our learning board game, named EDULudo, has three UI (User Interfaces), suitable for teachers, students and their parents. It could be played by 2 to 6 playersl who are 8+ years old. This learning game is a bit different from the classic LUDO, due to the bomb mode that help players to use board traps, in order to win.
Last but not least, EDUludo has the Iron-Brain Mode. The players could compete each others in this mode, since they must give 10 answers correctly, in order to win and be "THE IRON BRAIN".
Game design is a creative process that everyone can follow in order to engage and motivate their students through games. To make your students fully emerged and having FUN is a challenge for every teacher.
To sum up, don't forget do be creative and use the classic games for your educational aims and you'll have propably the expected learning outcomes.
Don't be afraid of something new!! Keep playing!
